Electroacoustic Version (originally composed for Drum Set and Field Recordings, see MIXED) Based on sounds of pigs while eating. The recordings were done in the mount Olympus foothills where there is a pig farm. This is the second part of a trilogy dedicated on Mount Olympus
3 Studies based on Field Recordings at Mount Olympus This first Study (Output#1) is based on Nightingale Singing during May. The distinct sound in contrast is from a water broken pipe near the Old Monastery St Dionysius.
Enhancing the background sounds of a pigsty and thus creating a sense of balance between foreground and background sounds (in terms of acoustic ecology), the work P.I.G.S. despite of its artistic identity, serves as a political critique to the European policy that divide Europe into the ‘foreground’ north Europe and the ‘background’ south Europe.
